[TYPO3] FTB / TV issues

hi folks,

i'm trying to set up a new TemplaVoila site with the FTB tutorial as  
a base.

i have a couple of strange errors.

one, when clicking on the TV menu option for my template.html file  
inside of fileadmin directory, i get this error:

Fatal error: Call to undefined function: versioningplaceholderclause 
() in /home/zaidella/public_html/typo3conf/ext/templavoila/cm1/ 
index.php on line 653

anyone have any idea?  this is a show-stopper for me.
i'm using 3.8.1
