[TYPO3] Local_Lang utf-8 problem

Hi,

I wanted to translate some fields in tt_news extension like: [more] etc
into my language(Serbian) using utf-8 charset. In setup of the template
I did:

plugin.tt_news._LOCAL_LANG.more = čitaj dalje


but in the frontend I keep getting some strange characters. Can anyone
tell what is the problem?
