[TYPO3] Extension KickStarter questions

Hey Group,

I'm a newbie in TYPO3 community. Right now I'm following Kasper's video 
tutorial(episode3_newsound_VD.avi) about the earlier version of 
Extension Kikstarter. As I'm following it I got following questions:

1 In the "insert plugin" form I could not get the cd category show up 
for me to select which category of the content element will show on the 
fe.In the Kickstarter I extended the tt_content table and make it 
related to my own extension's table which contains the category field.
2,I could not get the out put in fe as I expected. Do I need to alter 
the class.*****.php file?

If any of you could give me a hint about these questions, I would really 
appreciate it?
