Hi guys,
I want a advice with you on something that's been bodering me for a
while. My coleagues and I are developing intranet portla in our firm. We
are using T3, of cource.
The portal will be central source of information and services for all
the departments in our firm. On that portal we have pages for every
department - wich will be managed by responsible peoples from that
department.
We want to advice with t3 community on following topic. What is the best
practice for running this kind of portal? We were thinking of putting
separate domains managed by typo3 for every department. All those
domains will be in the same database.
For example the main corporate portal will be:
portal.somecorp.com
Domains for the departments will be like this:
portal-ict.somecorp.co
portal-hr.somecorp.com etc...
On the main portal we will have all the departments listed in main menu
and those items will be shortcuts to those departments domains:
portal-ict.somecorp.com ...
We will have editors, revievers and publishers for every department.
Also, there is a question of f.e. news. We want to have news on the main
page of the portal and news for every department. News editors from each
department would be able to publish their own news and news for the main
page of portal.
Basically, that is idea. If someone had an experience in running typo3
in such environment, I will appreciate any advice you have on this topic.
Regards,
Aleksandar Milovac
