[TYPO3] TS and PHP

Hi list,

I wrote an extension where I read parameters passed by TS.
Is it normal that I receive them *only* from the TS setup of the page 
that contains my extension, and for example I don't receive them if I 
put the same setup in the main template? And if this is normal, why?
