[TYPO3] Crawler in indexed_search

Hi,

just one quick question.
I'm trying to setup the crawler extension and indexed_search
extension, so that it wouldn't cache the pages while they are
shown to the visitor of the page.

Unfortunately with no luck.
Now I'm asking...are there any typo3 version restrictions here?
Like...crawler and background indexing works only with Typo3 4.0 ?

I'm using the 3.8.1 version.
