[TYPO3] How to hide 2nd level menu for only two items?

Hello,

I've got a site here:
http://www.wals.lib.wi.us/fonddulac

I've got a main menu across the top. Certain items in there have a sub
menu. Like the Kids link. On the left, there are two menu items. About
the library, and Library resources. I've got these two items hidden from
the top, main menu.

When you click on one of the links to the left, under one of those
heading, you see the sub-menu under the main menu. Is it possible to
hide the sub-menu for only the two items about the library and library
resources?

I'm running typo 3.8.1 with templavoila .4 on redhat 4.0AS server.
