[TYPO3] uploads folder does not exist?

yep it is it was however set to read only as where a few other folders not 
sure how that happened but it is no longer so not sure if this a windows 
problem or not, in the past i have always had uploads/ as a mounted folder 
but cannot seem to get it to be mounted  this also has been since using beta 
v of typo3 4.0 beta 1 +2 releases. although the folder shows under mounted 
folders

fileadmin/
logs/
uploads/


when viewing from "filelist" in be it just shows fileadmin/  and all sub 
directories neither uploads/ or logs/ is viewable
