[TYPO3] How to execute local applications from Typo3

No problem, but for fun I just tried what you suggested and I cant get 
it to work, how would you type the link to an *.exe file?

I tried file://c:\programs\...\outlook.exe but Typo3 puts 
http://www.domain.com/ in front of the link so that will not work.
