[TYPO3] HELP ABOUT TT_NEWS

Hi

I just want to explore about tt_news. I have a requirement in tt_news.
Suppose there is  category  "EDUCATION"  and there are five news items 
under this category and I need to show on a page the category and number 
of news items under it    e.g.  EDUCATION ( 5 ) .
 
 Where EDUCATION is category name and 5 is number of news items under it.

How can I achieve this? I tried a lot but could n't find solution for it.
