Adding more meat for the benefit of archive...

page is only PAGE because you would have set it in your template:

page = PAGE
page.typeNum = 0

You could also see a TYPO3 template with this instead:

eggs = PAGE
eggs.typeNum = 0

and therefore this is also valid.

eggs.meta.keywords =
eggs.meta.description =

This is particularly useful when defining framesets when you need more than
one PAGE per webpage.
