[TYPO3] ldap problem

Hi,
I've been trying to use eu_ldap with better_loginbox. When I try logging
in as an ldap user, the devlog shows that the user was successfully
authenticated but in the FE the login still fails.
I was unable to import groups from LDAP directly so I had to create a
group in typo3 and assign the ldap user to it.

I was unable to import from LDAP because I do not know the syntax for
the section:*
how to match the usergroup (when not using standard implementation)
*I use OpenLDAP and the group (e.g., Accounting) is stored in the ou
field and not in posixGroup:memberUid.
I tried inputting ou and organizationalPerson:ou but neither populated
the groups.

However if I put title=ou in the* import these additional fields*
section, The departmental group shows up in the title.
Is usergroup expecting a number or a string? because ou contains the
departmental group name. Also, does the usergroup from ldap have to
match an existing one in typo3 or does typo3 create new groups when it
finds a new one imported from ldap?

Although this is a problem, I don't know if it has anything to do with
not being able to login as an ldap user even though the log verifies
they successfully authenticated.

Any help please?
