[Typo3] Hiding the dummy-package in browser

I believe Michael actually had something like this in mind:
http://domain/dummy to turn it into http://domain

So far I collected 2 solutions:
#1 Move everything from the package folder to the domain root and update 
the typo3_src link. This works on my last project perfectly.

#2 Use Apache rewrite rules. I have not done this so far and I really do 
not know the actual setup needed. It would be nice if some Apache gurus 
would actually send us some example? Btw. this method is the preffered 
way if you plan to have more sites on the same account. This way all of 
them will be able to use the same typo3 source which simplifies updates.
