[Typo3] how can i generate transparent PNG-files with partial transparency?

Simply do so - it doesn't matter, which tags you are using for this image
replacement trick.
Just make sure that the original text is invisible for normal browsers.
Instead of alt- and title-parameters you could use a dfn-tag to describe the
image.

AFAIK impossible with IM/GDlib. This is why I said: Use image replacement
and combined images.
