[Typo3] tt_news template

On Monday 05 September 2005 00.21 Kahlil Lechelt spoke unto the unsuspecting
world:

I have
plugin.tt_news {
templateFile =
fileadmin/templates/distortion/tt_news_distortion_template.html
}
in the TSConfig of my FE page. (Where the tt_news extension showing the
Latest view is).
I remove the text
<!--###LINK_ITEM###-->###NEWS_DATE### ###NEWS_TIME###<!--###LINK_ITEM###-->
from the template, save it and then clear all cache. (Cleared browser cache
for good measure).
Reload the page.
Date and time is still in there ...
What am I doing wrong then?
