[Typo3] Extension problem

I seem to have another slight problem - I've broken the entire site!

I thought the extension problem may have something to do with the folder
permissions so I gave everything permissions and now I'm getting horrible
errors!

I'm downloading it from the typo3.org site then uploading it directly from
the extension manager.

Do you upload extensions to typo3 or download them from TER?

Seems like your local server can not *download* extensions from TER.
This what I see in the source code of extension manager.
