[Typo3] Simple Stats extension

Hi, 
I'm trying to get some sort of statistic reporting system working on my
Typo3 installation.

I'd tried cc_awstats but ran into difficulty because I'm using a windows
server. I ended up contacting the author, Jesper, directly and he advised me
not to use AWstats with Typo3 at all.

So I'm back to using the simple stat extension which I can't get to work
either.  I'm getting this error message:


Warning: mysql_fetch_row(): supplied argument is not a valid MySQL result
resource in
D:\ShowProd\TYPO3\mcncontentmanagement\typo3\t3lib\class.t3lib_db.php on
line 736

Can someone please help? What do other people do about site statistics?
