[Typo3] realurl and rtehtmlarea - internal links not working

Hi all,

for some reason, any time I set an internal link using rtehtmlarea, it's saving it as

href="?id=51"

(or whatever the id is for the page linked)

using realurl, this means that the link the browser sees is 

/?id=51

which ends up displaying the rootpage instead.

anyone got a way to fix this?
