Which plugin?

Does the plugin come with 'static data' which might also include a
proper template file setting? You can check this in the template
info/modify -> display whole template -> include static.

Does the name of your plugin show up in the list somewhere?

What do the docs say?

Can you copy over the default template from the plugin dir and load that?
