[Typo3] T3 Book p.154, TCEMAIN Examples

Hello! I cant any of the book examples to work in page 154 and forward.

page permissions is the only thing that works:
TCEMAIN.permissions.groupid = 1

any of the user permission-thing does not work. I have tried these in 
every place and no candy:

TCEMAIN.permissions.group = show, editcontent, new, delete
TCEFORM.tt_content.CType.removeItems = search, login, div, script, html
mod.web_layout.disableNewContentElementWizard = 1
TCEFORM.tt_content.header_ textbf{layout.altLabels.0} = Middle/Header
TCEFORM.tt_content.menu_type.removeItems = 3,4,5

I suppose that I should put these under TSconfig on usergroup settings?
What I am doing wrong?!

mod { SHARED.colPos_list = 0 } works too under userconfig, but thats 
it... "startInTaskCenter = 1" doesnt work ... Heelp!! I am starting to 
get desperate. My Typo3 version is 3.8.
