[Typo3] typo3 3.8 - feuser authentication services

Hello everybody,

I've heard, in typo3 3.8 feuser-authentication services are included in 
the core.

Can you confirm this and does someone have more information/tutorials 
about this issue?

I'd like to store the users details in a different table and use 
fe_users just for authentication.
