[Typo3] Page splitting for long articles

Yes, i knew about this feature in the tt_news extension.
I thought there was a solution also for other kind of standard content.
My site is an online magazine ( preview, review, articles, guides, etc 
etc ). May be i should re-design my site, basing all content only on the 
tt_news plugin.
