[Typo3] rtehtmlarea does not create email links

Hi!

I am using the rtehtmlarea extension instead of the classic RTE.
Inserting an email link is a really important function I can't miss.
But the rtehtmlarea does not let me insert email links. Every time I 
insert an emails and press the "Link setzten" button (this is german I 
think in the English version it is "set link") in the appropriate form, 
no link is created. I get back to the internal link selector.

I don't know why this happens and I would like to keep the rtehtmlarea 
but if I can't get this working, I have to downgrade to the classical RTE.

Does anybody know about this (maybe a) bug?
