[Typo3] Minute Website

Ok I have tried the Modern Template Building Tutorial pt1 and no matter what 
I do the object browser never ends up saying what it is meant to say.

>From what I can see Typo3 is an excellent cms - it has the potential to be 
very accessable and help people to build dynamic websites that they can 
update themselves with out having to use dream weaver or learn html. As long 
as you have an administrator  - which is fine. I totally applaud Kasper 
Skårhøj for the work he has done.

But... I have a big problem with the tutorials and general help that is on 
the site. There is a killer phrase that crops up which goes like this "All 
you have to do is <BLANK> and you are done."

I got totally annoyed with the Modern Template Building Tutorial pt1. I have 
tried and tried. I have read every word 150 times at least and it still 
doesn't work - in the end. I understand the concepts and most of the code 
and what it does... But it doesn't fully work. I thought I mistyped stuff 
and so converted the pdf to word. I have checked trough all the code over 
and over again and done everything over and over again but my object browser 
never looks like it should on pg42. ;(

I then found the Minute Website and that didn't work - more tutorial issues.

OK:

1. Place a blank TYPO3 installation on a webserver (Like dummy-3.7.0? Ok 
done that.)

2. Season it with the TemplaVoila extension (Install the TemplaVoila 
extension. Ok done that.)

3. Grab the HTML template and dip it into the fileadmin/templates/ folder 
(What "the HTML template"? The one in my draw? The one in my cat litter 
tray? The one from MTB?)

Well I put the MTB temlate in the fileadmin/templates/ folder and I get:

"Internal Server Error The server encountered an internal error or 
misconfiguration and was unable to complete your request. Please contact the 
server administrator, ****@####.com and inform them of the time the error 
occurred, and anything you might have done that may have caused the error. 
More information about this error may be available in the server error log.

Additionally, a 404 Not Found error was encountered while trying to use an 
ErrorDocument to handle the request.

I have looked in the extention folder but can't find the file I am supposed 
to use.

I have looked here for help:

and other places - I just want to get a working site - I think my head is 
going to explode...
