[Typo3] Creating a Yellow Pages type directory

Has anyone ever attempted this with Typo3. I've had a look at various 
extensions like julle_companydirectory and sp_directory but I havn't 
found quite what I'm looking for.

Ideally I'd like to replicate similar functionality to phpYellow or 
phpMyDirectory.

Has anyone got any thoughts about where to start?
