Hi Olivier - ok - here is more detail (what is safe mode on / off???):

if you would like I will send you personally the site links and username
password to see if it works (most likely will)

The demo site that gave trouble was/is TYPO3 3.6.0RC2 - I installed 3.7 on
the same server and had the same problem - I could not log into backend from
my computer with the correct username and password - but I could log into
the same site immediatly from a different computer on another network. I
could still log onto my other sites from the PC giving the problems (also at
that stage 3.6). I recently upgraded to 3.8 on my main server and can log in
without trouble - but the server witht the problem with my PC still does not
want to work - It is as if it has a problem with my PC only - it worked fine
for and then suddenly did not want to log in - and gave the cookie error. I
have the same problem on a test I ran with typo3 on a 3rd server. It worked
fine and then suddenly it does not allow me access from my system - but I
can access it from another.....

Now I have a client who can not log into his site (typo 3.8) - the one that
works with me - I tested from his PC and sure - he can't log into my 3.8
installation - but I can log into other test installations as well as the
one I can not log into (the 3.6) on a different server.

I have full admin rights on all servers. There is plenty of hardware to
spare on all servers.

The thing is that some work on some PC's while not on others and the other
way around.

Let's call the servers 1,2 and 3. All of these are installed on different
servers with different service providers - all shared hosting schemes with
Cpanel or monstercontrol to my disposal for admin.
