[Typo3] cm_jstickernews stopped showing newsheadlines

Hi everybody,

I'm using TYPO3 3.7.1 on a Linux machine with Apache2 and Mysql 4.0xx.

tt_news 2.1.1
cm_jstickernews 0.0.3

All the time the ticker worked fine. But suddenly he stopped (and I 
think without any changes on the backend of the website) showing the 
news. Just "+++" is printed out - nothing else.

I tried to change settings now for several hours - without success.

Has anybody ever encountered a similar problem?
