[Typo3] Error using imagemagick with typo3

I am new to using Typo3 and have just installed both the quickstart and
dummy version on a windows server.  I was able to get everything
installed fine, but now that I am trying to show the pages I get the
error Fatal error: Call to undefined function imagecreate() in
D:\Inetpub\quickstart-3.7.0\tslib\class.tslib_gifbuilder.php on line
329.  Also if I add an image element to a page and click the "i" for
information on the image I get Warning: exec() [function.exec
<http://phxmgt08/typo3/function.exec> ]: Unable to fork
[/usr/X11R6/bin/convert -geometry 166x132! -colors 64
D:/Inetpub/quickstart-3.7.0/uploads/pics/postit_1.gif[0]
D:/Inetpub/quickstart-3.7.0/typo3temp/pics/8327298e54.gif] in
D:\Inetpub\quickstart-3.7.0\typo3\t3lib\class.t3lib_stdgraphic.php on
line 2376.  
 
I checked to make sure that imagemagick is working and I can see the
logo just as their test in the directions says I should.  I am sure I
missed a configuration somewhere, but I am a slow reader and there is a
lot of manuals to try to go through to find this.  Any help would be
appreciated.
