[Typo3] blank screen insted of instal tool

hi pablo,

normaly username, pass and host are defined while installation procedure in
Install Tool (/typo3/install/index.php), -> Basic Configuration

On most hosting-servers the db_host is the localhost or at alternative
127.0.0.1

when installation is finished, all settings are writen to
typo3conf/localconf.php

maybe have a look there.

hello,

I'm trying to install TYPO3 on else hosting, (on my actual host TYPO3 works
prefectly) but I get error and quick change to blank screen

Warning: mysql_pconnect(): Can't connect to local MySQL server through
socket '/var/lib/mysql/mysql.sock' (2) in
/home/users/mydomain/public_html/typo/t3lib/class.t3lib_db.php on line 831


My hosting service says that its TYPO3 error, said that I have to give
password and name for install. So I changed the db_name, db_pass etc. Still
nothing.
I've noticed that the db_host isn't localhost, maby this is the answer?
Where should i paste this to get my install running?
