I use Advanced Banner Management (macina_banners) with ease and no
problems. I can really recommend it.

It simply works like a Content element that you insert where you want to
show the banners (grouped in left,right,bottom,top). Banners are saved
in a Sysfolder. Supports images and flashfiles.
