[Typo3] Write-permission problem

Hi,I've done a search for this on the archive but nothing came up.

I'm just going over the modern template building1 again. I just realised 
that I can go into the template_1.html code in the fileadmin/main and 
hitting edit. However, it seems when I look at fileadmin/main it
has no RW capabilities only R. So I get the message bottom.

Q. How can I change the RW properties for this folder and all the 
folders and files under it.
