[Typo3] Indexed search - possible to refine to certain areas?

Hello,

I'm running typo 3.7 on redhat 3.0as.

I've got a few sections on my site that use pdf files. Each set of pdf
files is in it's own directory. I've got typo successfully indexing
those files. My question is, is there a way for the user to tell the
indexed search to only search within specific directories?
