[Typo3] XML_Menu extension, how does it work?

I want to extracxt my folder structure to flash and the XML_Menu extension 
seems to be the right choice for this. However after install it is 
completely unclear to me how I should use it. Don't see anything listed as a 
module or as a plugin type for a CE. Any pointers how to use this extension 
would be highly appriciated. Do I need to include TS?

(PS, is it possible to extract subtrees, and not the complete sitetree?)
