Meanwhile I can give the answer myself. In the ext_conf.php I used version number '0.1'. However, the version number should contain 3 integers, separated with points.

This is actually stated in http://docs.typo3.org/typo3cms/CoreApiReference/ExtensionArchitecture/DeclarationFile/ :
"version | main.sub.dev | Version of the extension. Automatically managed by EM / TER. Format is [int].[int].[int]".

With a version number of '0.1.0' all works smooth.
