Hi,
I noticed, that since TYPO3 6.1 and FAL a physically missing asset will
break the WHOLE frontend rendering,
even if no 3rd party extension or sth is active on the TYPO3 page.
The reason seems to be the handling of the LocalDriver exceptions,
especially for files.
I noticed some tickets on forge.typo3.org to address this problem, however,
LocalDriver.php still throws an
InvalidArgument Exception in TYPO3 6.2.5 in the file-missing case.
Is there sth like a joint effort to fix this problems and - more important -
communicate the handling of FAL resources
in TYPO3 Extensions ? Imho it would be REALLY nice to make the strict
exception throwing switchable in the EM settings or sth,
because on many migrated sites there could be dangling file relations or
missing old files, which cause these pages to completely crash,
which can't be the goal of the inventor of FAL ;).
Thx 4 feedback,
Frank
