You just cut away the most important part: "(Just want to prevent any 
legal problems for you)". I'm not discouraging him, but I don't want him 
to have a meeting with some official authority regarding privacy 
violations on his website.
It really doesn't matter much if the sources are somewhat public, 
European laws are pretty weird in this regard and the German version 
might have some surprising variations.
