Yes, there are Unit Tests. However, as always when you start with 
writing tests >5 years after the project start, the coverage is not that 
good.

You can run the tests using the phpunit extension.

The CI team is working on making Jenkins [1] run them automatically, 
when new changes are pushed to our review system Gerrit [2].
