[TYPO3-dev] TYPO3 system language

Hello folks,

is there something like a
system language for a TYPO3 installation?

I'm creating an extension which
should send notifications to admins,
but as this notifications are invoked
by various front-end users, the actual
notifications should not be sent in
different languages, but in the "default"
system language of TYPO3 - if there is one.

Any idea?
