I think a conversion of existing TS-structure to XML (and back) is 
possible, but it would not help anyone to have the tree-structure of TS 
wrapped in XML. (just XML needs much more bytes to represent the same 
data)

As far as you don't understand the concept of TS as an array which 
controls the page generation you will have problems with TS.

every now and then people try to 'program' with typoSCRIPT - and fail.
as TS is no programming language but a configuration. The naming is 
misleading :-(
you need to understand this completely different concept. 

and trying to change the controls into a programming-language would need 
to change the complete page-generating process.
