If they clear the typo3temp on a daily basis they should know what they
are doing and certainly expect some performance loss right?
Although I guess that's not the suggested way of using typo3temp?
So is there any other place where you can generate files to that should
stay a little longer?
I mean we could generate them anywhere? in typo3 (would need to be
regenerated if you update typo3) or in the nothing extension or
whatever... the thing is that they should be generated very rarely
(after you install an extension)
A first set of file could be shipped with the dummy package. So they
don't need to be generated when you start with a clean version. (ideas
like this are there but should be discussed in a later phase) Whenever
you install an extension it might add icons so you need to regenerate...
All in all I would still prefer typo3temp as I would expect it there but
the place doesn't really matter to me...
cheers
