Not true. The only version which receives full support is the current 
stable, i.e. 4.3. For 4.2 this is at our discretion and would require 
approval by Ingo (as pointed out by Dmitry).

Personally I'm not convinced that it is worth the effort, given that 
hosters are notoriously slow to update their servers (just remember how 
much debate it cause to drop PHP4 support). Some patches (like those 
that changed all usages of the ereg library where far from simple and 
cause some side-effects until everything was ironed out).
