Well, as Masi said: "Embrace change". I would add: It's never too late.

We already have major extensions TYPO3 wouldn't be complete, but that 
aren't included as sysext.

realurl, templavoila, tt_news ...

We use them in every single project and without them TYPO3 wouldn't be 
"complete".

But I can perfectly live without a "recycler" and probably also without 
a link checker in most projects.

Of course it's not my decision and I will respect what the RM's will decide.

Yes we need that and it will be easier since the new Extension Manager 
will support more than one repository.
