A "hint" :-D

This is something that should be done in more cases. I hoped that for
example tt_news 3.0 would be a completely new version. Alas...

Naming cannot be an issue. Giving a framework is not the problem.
Slartibartfast would've been an nice name too.
Maybe the idea of distinct project comes from quotes such as "FLOW3 can
be used independently of TYPO3 as a development framework", "The FLOW3
framework is independent from the TYPO3 CMS.", (on the FLOW3 website)?

Reality check: a project has a budget and a feature set. You can stick
to either of those and vary with the other or make a trade off between
the two, but working without a deadline of some sort is not realistic.
I think the deadline proposed by Dmitry was more a way to start a
discussion and get some answers. You can't work without some time
schedule and deadline, unless you aim for the vaporware top 10.

That's something to look out for!

More background information during the journey would've been a lot
better. It provides a better feeling of being a community. Besides it's
often educational and entertaining to read about decisions, good and bad
experiences, etc.
It also gives a community time to get used to all the features and
techniques, and once in a while others might have good ideas too...
