Oops! Sorry! You're absolutely right!

A news module (or a 
general-dynamic-record-with-time-and-category-support extension) is a 
must have for v5, so maybe an extbase version would be nice to make sure 
that a mature version is present when v5 arrives :-)

But then again, so many extensions are a must have in the minds of many 
people...
