[TYPO3-dev] IMAGE doesn't write gif

Hi,

on one site suddenly all gifs are not created using IMAGE
It's a 4.2.1 (security patched)

something like
10 = IMAGE
10.file = fileadmin/templates/fw/images/fw5.gif

suddenly stopped working, output is empty image.

If i change to jpg or png, there is no problem.

Using image tests in installtool all work fine (also creating gif)
used is IM 6.3.5

any ideas?
