[TYPO3-dev] Image Resize in BE module using IMG_RESOURCE?

Hi list,

i need some image resizing which in BE because i have to export them to 
another application in smaller sizes.
Is there a way to use IMG_RESOURCE without initializing the whole FE or 
should i access IM directly?
