I will join in!
Would like to get rid of that old ISO format too...
last year on the developer days in Elmshorn during the coding guidelines session alot of people were interested in a cleaned encoding of the TYPO3 core files
isn't it a complete no-brainer to change the encoding of that old files?!

Because of some weird Scandinavian characters that are not converted in
some old files Chinese shouldn't be allowed ;-)
Please tell me if you open a file on a UTF-8 system with your default
editor you always have to remember that this is the old stuff from TYPO3
and have to switch to a different ancient charset?
I would recommend to transfer that files to UTF-8 and get forget iso.
Can we help?
Peter.
