You may leave it as this. Personnally, I renamed those to pimembers, 
pievents, ... as quickly I was not able anymore to know what pi1 and pi4 
were for...

However all these conventions will be lost once you move to extbase MVC 
coming with 4.3.

As such, I would not loose time with this and either leave it as this 
(it's OK) or give it a meaningful name if you think it will be easier to 
work with.
