Come on, guys, dropping a feature so shortly before feature freeze is 
really not of much use. Do it early in trunk for the next release, but 
not a day before feature freeze.

That sounds OK, but I think it could actually stay there, but with a 
clear warning "Deprecated, this feature will be removed in 4.3". We 
could even add the same comment to the 4.1 branch.
