I would but I have to use the DB that's available.

I'm for dropping the feature right now (that is 4.2 beta). If we're 
"forcing" ISPs to PHP 5.1 (despite the continuous wrong announcements it's 
5.2) we can also "force" them to (at least) Mysql 4.1.
